Florida Senate has passed a bill rolling back the state's ability to control growth.The Senate approved the measure 31-8 vote changed on Friday - the last day of the 60-day legislative session - despite protests by Democrats, who complained would permit the return to more sprawl, higher taxes and runaway growth. This still requires the approval of Parliament.
The deal was reached a week ago when negotiating a joint legislative panel agreed to include the difference in spending growth control rollback in the state budget. maneuver was to prevent the Senate from making changes to the House version.
